How to Claim
You can claim Jobseeker's Benefit online through MyWelfare.ie or by visiting your local DSP Intreo Centre. You will need your PPS number, a photo ID, and details of your previous employment.
Claims should be made on the first day you become unemployed. You can claim immediately if you have been made redundant or lost your job; if you are on short-time work, you may qualify for a partial payment.
Important Notes
- Jobseeker's Benefit is taxable — Revenue will deduct tax where applicable.
- You must be available for and genuinely seeking full-time work.
- If your claim ends and you still cannot find work, you may qualify for Jobseeker's Allowance (means tested).
